I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and I went to the Namao Community Police Station because I wanted to have an experience of being in a Jail Cell and in the Back of a police car. I realized that the front seats were cloth and the back seats were leather. As well I've also been in some taxi cabs that used to be a police car for example the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Crown Victoria. The driver told me that the car used to be a police car. As well I realized that the Front seats were cloth and the rear seats were leather as well. One one trip in a taxi cab, I asked him why is the back seats leather and he said that maybe that so the criminals cannot burn it as eaislier and another said maybe so it can be cleaned eaiser. I would like to know different reasons, etc. The police department in Edmonton is called "Edmonton Police Service"Thank-you for you time.

  2. Resolved Question: Highway gas mileage for a 1976 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with a 400 HP V-8 engine ?

I'm looking for the number of miles to the gallon for highway driving only. Not really interested in city driving statistics. A friend of mine would be driving the described vehicle from Edmonton Canada to Las Vegas Nevada, a total of 1500 miles or 2415 kilometers. We are simply trying to figure out how many tanks of gas with this vehicle it would take to get there. Also, if anyone knows the approximate price of regular fuel in the U.S. that would be helpful as well. That way we could get a rough idea of the fuel cost involved in driving 1500 miles on the highway. Also, please, no partial answers to these questions, otherwise I'm going to have to sift through 80 answers if you know what I mean ? If you know the answers to all of the above questions, please answer and thank you so much for your help.

  3. Resolved Question: Is the US finally ready for fuel efficient cars?

Here's some Chevy's in the UK http://www.chevrolet.co.uk/index.html The little Matiz gets about 55 mpg highway US gallons. You probably recognize the Kalos as the Chevy Aveo here. The Lacetti is the Chevy Optima in Canada and Suzuki Forenza and Reno in the USA. In the UK, 40 mpg highway for these cars which are considered "family" cars. My brother lives there and has one of the most common cars there, the Ford Fiesta http://www.ford.co.uk/ns7/all_cars/-/-/-/-/-/- It's a diesel and gets about 58 mpg highway. It does 0-62 in about 11 seconds, which is faster than many US subcompacts yet far superior MPG. If he chose gas, he'd get about 40 mpg and similar acceleration. I'm ready for 40-50+ mpg. Are you? Are you so personally insecure that you need a large vehicle to prove you are a "real man"?
